About Me

My photo
I live in The Dalles with my husband, dog, and our cat. We have 3 wonderful and terrific grown children who are involved or married with kind and loving people. I am a happy and positive person. I teach at Sherman County High School, specializing with students who need help in reading and math. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was 5, and having this dream come true is simply amazing. I try hard to serve Christ daily, although I fall short often. I love to celebrate all aspects of life and things big and small. Most people have a favorite season, I however, find beauty in each season and look forward to the change. I love to be outdoors and I am beginning a new journey with photography.

Scott and I planted the wave petunias in barrels. These color combinations are so pretty.

This picture looks surreal to me. I love shooting sunsets and sunrises, with the light and the many different colors makes for some majestic pictures.

A tree against the colors of the sky.

I like how the clouds and all the colors rolled around together to form a spectacular view.

Such a beautiful night sky.

Since Scott is working in the cherry orchards, he keeps the house stalked with plenty of delicious cherries.

This rainbow was so bright and vibrant. It lasted for well over 20 minutes before it started to fade. Absolutely beautiful and breath taking.

Trying to capture the whole rainbow!

Tuesday, July 19
After a day of rain and clouds, we get to see this beautiful rainbow cover the sky.

More garden veggies. I can't wait until we have lots more tomatoes. I LOVE homegrown tomatoes!!!!

Sunday, July 17
A full moon in a pretty night sky. This picture didn't turn out exactly as I had planned, but I think it still looks cool. Maybe with a better camera, I will be able to take these far away shots.

Today it is Fort Dalles days. Neither one of us has ever been to see Fort Dalles. We enjoyed the tour and saw some great things. It was a good day. In addition to the Fort, we toured the oldest house in The Dalles, the original courthouse, and the second original courthouse (known as the Clock Tower Brewery). It was really cool to see all those old things.

Morgan had fun dressing up Jazz while her and Richard were visiting us. It was a good time and they stayed for several nights. WE LOVED HAVING THEM THERE!!!!

Some of my good deals. I am not sure how I did this but I got everything for $4.71 by using coupons. Wow, that is pretty good.

Our trip to Pine Hollow. Robert, Richard, Morgan, Scott, Jazz and I all had a great time fishing on the lake. We caught fish but we didn't keep them because they looked so deformed. It was weird, they looked like they were covered in cigarette burns...yeck!!!! Being on the lake and hanging with everyone was a blast. Both Morgan and I rowed, which is a lot harder than it looks. I rowed like I was a drunken sailor in a zig-zag motion back and forth across the lake.

Jazz is a pure water dog. While we were in the boat about 150 yards from shore, Jazz jumped into the lake to go after a goose. She got about half way before she gave up and swam back to the boat. Richard had a bit of a time getting the 90 pound soaking wet dog back into the boat.

I packed a lunch for everyone and we stopped to have a picnic. It was a good day with great memories.

Homegrown Califlower. It was delicious. I love have fresh veggies out of the garden.

My oldest brother's 50th birthday. We loved spending time with Robert on his birthday even though it was a very interesting day as my parents were close to moving into their new home in The Dalles. I love the cake.....hehehe that was fun!!!!

Fishing at Rock Creek with Richard and Scott. We had a great time, but sadly we didn't land any fish in the boat. We get a few bites. It was a nice day. Scott rowed the whole time and sometimes he had lots of wind to fight. A very good memory.

Well, I haven't posted any pictures for about a month. I am not sure if time just got away from me or if I just dropped the ball. Maybe a little of both. Here are some pictures of the last month, there is no particular date on these, as I can't remember what went what day. I hope you enjoy!!!
